My friend and I love this place. We drive up from New York every year! It has an awesome trail right onto Mt Madison. Awesome Hike!!!
Absolutely great campground. We arrived very late and since it's first come first serve, you can pay for your night(s) by choosing an empty campground at any hour and by filling an enveloppe with your money and camp number at the gate. The keepers are very kind and friendly. Also very safe!!
I've been going for 4 years now and I love this campground, very secluded, lots of privacy! The hosts are so kind and helpful, the toilets are well kept and there is lots of hiking to be done around!
Stayed multiple times. Basic amenities but large, private, wooded campsites. Highly recommended for hikers and others looking for seclusion and quiet.
Good location. It's been under construction for a long time. No showers, old bathrooms. We were awakened at 7:30 AM by large construction equipment, trees being knocked down, etc. $22 is steep for just a tent site. They should scale the rates based on RV, tent, etc.
